The procedure for making a copy print is to make the best scan possible of the original. Matching or improving the image compared to the original begins with the scan. Then the digital file is adjusted for tonal qualities, retouched and restored as needed. Test prints allow for additional improvements until the final, high quality print is made. The control allowed by the digital printing process, coupled with the wide variety of media available for inkjet printing make this the preferred method of making a good copy print. For the first time ever we can actually make a copy print that is in many ways better than the original.
